Hi, I’m Victor Orozco

Victor Orozco was born in California, but he moved to Omaha at age five so has hopefully forgotten what it's like to live in summer year-round. Luckily, his main free time activity is an indoor one.

“I work out a lot. I used to play a lot of Sunday League soccer, but I've kind of gone a different route just because the amount of weight I've gained because of the gym has made it hard on my knees. I'm 270 now and it's hard to be running around. I want my knees to stay in good condition.”

Like a few other Bluestoners, Victor enjoys playing Minecraft, a game that requires gathering resources and being creative about how to build with square blocks. As for TV, “I'll still watch soccer regularly. If I do watch anything else it's mainly documentaries. Recently I've been stuck on a show called The First 48.”

Victor was in the Marines for 4 years, doing boot camp at San Diego and serving most of his time at Camp Pendleton. He thinks this is why his taste in movies tends towards comedy and action, and mentioned war-related movies like Black Hawk Down, American Sniper, and Saving Private Ryan as a few of his favorites.

He has another interest that he hasn't indulged in a while, but that is about to change. “I've been wanting to get back into the sportier car scene.” He plans to get a Honda Civic Type R to customize. “Hondas are very reliable and I feel like it has a very wide range of possibilities when it comes to making it aesthetically pleasing.”

And as for pets, Cookie the 15-year-old Chihuahua has been in his life longer than any other non-human being. He knows how lucky he is that she has lived so long and probably doesn't like to think about that too much. Instead, he counts his blessings. “It's not very easy to replicate the amount of joy that pets bring into your life.” You can’t get truer than that.
